Flip Or Flop Stars Tarek & Christina El Moussa Call It Quits On Their Seven Year Marriage Months After An EXPLOSIVE Fight!
This may be for the best.
Flip Or Flop stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa have separated after seven years of marriage. While fans may be saddened to learn that the HGTV couple have called it quits, they may become okay with the news upon learning the twosome's split falls six months after an incident involving a gun and a potential suicide attempt.
In a joint statement to People, the El Moussas explained:
"Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage. We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed."
Huh. Although we're happy to see the estranged duo putting up a united front, they seem to be down playing the "misunderstanding" mentioned (above).
According to TMZ, back in May, police responded to a call about a "possibly suicidal male with a gun" at the couple's Orange County residence. In following with protocol, at least 11 officers and one helicopter were sent to the scene — where Tarek reportedly grabbed a gun from a safe, fled out of his home and down a hiking trail. Witnesses claim they saw Christina crying and shaking as she left the O.C. pad she shares with Tarek.
It's said deputies seized an AR-15 and four other guns after the incident. But sure, it was just a misunderstanding.
Thankfully, it sounds like the TV personalities are dedicated to maintaining an amicable relationship for the sake of their kids as they continued:
"During the process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be. We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together."
We're curious to see what happens to the El Moussas' TV show now they're no longer together. TBH, it could make for some pretty dramatic reality TV!
