Last August, Newton native John Krasinski told Boston.com that he’d like to work with his wife, actress Emily Blunt, “in any way, shape, or form.” Now, it seems they will star in a movie together.
Deadline first reported that the former star of The Office is set to co-write, direct, and star in The Quiet Place, which will also star Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada, Edge of Tomorrow).
Michael Bay will reportedly produce the film along with his partners, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, of the production company Platinum Dunes, who all worked with Krasinski on 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.
Though nothing has been revealed about the plot of The Quiet Place, it seems it will likely be a horror film or psychological thriller. According to Variety, Krasinski expressed interest to the Dunes team about working together on a movie similar to The Purge and Ouija. That led them to The Quiet Place, which the production company had recently bought.
While Krasinski and Blunt, who married in 2010, have never starred in a movie together, they did both make cameo appearances in The Muppets (2011). As for upcoming projects, Krasinski will play the newest version of Tom Clancy CIA agent Jack Ryan in a forthcoming 10-episode show on Amazon, while Blunt is currently filming Mary Poppins Returns, in which she plays the titular magical nanny.
