The first single from his “Oye Mujer” album tops two airplay charts simultaneously.
Raymix (real name: Edmundo Gómez Moreno) picks up his first Regional Mexican Songs No. 1 with “Oye Mujer,” as the song climbs 4-1 on the May 5-dated airplay ranking. The song — released via Latin Stylish/AfterCluv/Fonovisa/Universal Music Latin Entertainment (UMLE) — previously topped the Tropical Songs airplay tally and remains at No. 1.
“I will remember this first No. 1 all my life, and for that I thank the Higher Self, my old and new fans, as well as UMLE and my management,” Raymix tells Billboard. “Thanks for allowing me to take my musical philosophy beyond my room, as well as the stations and media that have made known this project, whose flag is and will continue to be love.”
The song jumps to No. 1 with a 21 percent rise in audience impressions in the week ending April 29, according to Nielsen Music (rising to 11 million). It also enters the overall Latin Airplay list’s top five, rising 10-5.
Concurrently, “Oye” holds atop the Tropical Songs airplay chart for a third consecutive week.
