Iggy Azalea Claims She Knew About Demi Lovato’s Relapse All Along

According to Iggy Azalea, she knew all about Demi Lovato’s relapse into drugs and alcohol after years of sobriety. Azalea, during an interview with ET on the 10th of July, Tuesday, said, “I had known about it,” and as a “close friend,” she wanted to ensure that Lovato had someone to rely on.

Azalea said that, while she knew about it, it was far more important for Demi to be the one to tell people, and not her, or anyone else, for that matter.

The 28-year-old rapper said that she worried “somebody would somehow take that and use it negatively against her,” or make it seem as though a secret had been kept in spite of her fans.

Azalea thought it was important for the “Sorry, Not Sorry,” singer to come clean about it, own up to it, and “own it,” which she subsequently did. As it was previously reported, Demi revealed she had relapsed on the 21st of June when she released a song called, “Sober.”

The singer wrote the song, which, through the lyrics, revealed she had failed to stay sober. As fans of the singer know, she celebrated six drug-free years in March 2018.

In the rapper’s point of view – and she hadn’t known Lovato written the song either – it was incredibly honorable because Lovato managed to keep it real and honest with herself, which is obviously hard to do.

Thankfully, Lovato’s fans were very understanding for the most part, despite some who might assume her support would dwindle. Many people online thanked her for her honesty.

Previously, an insider who sat down with us explained, “Demi wasn’t feeling very good after she relapsed. It was a big deal for her, almost soul-crushing. To put six years into sobriety, only for it to disappear overnight is really heartbreaking.”
