Emily Atack has hit back at body shamers, revealing she receives cruel comments about her appearance on a daily basis.

The I’m A Celeb star, who’s currently smashing it as matchmaker on her series Singletown with Joel Dommett, shared hurtful messages she’d been sent on Twitter.

‘People say I shouldn’t give this attention.I’m trying to show this really happens on a daily basis to some people,’ the 29-year-old said.

‘This was after my boyfriend & I went for a walk on Sunday eve & I was unaware of photos being taken. “Just ignore it!” No I won’t. It’s hurtful. And I’m p***ed off.’

She went on to attach a picture of cruel messages she’d received, while censoring the names of those who had sent them.

Fans were quick to share the love for the former Inbetweeners star, with one writing: ‘What the actual hell is wrong with some people! This has made me furious. You are genuinely one of the most beautiful girls in the industry.’

Another pointed out: ‘Imagine wasting your time writing mean things about others…I pity them I really do.’

‘Ignore them Emily you’re beautiful whatever size you are. It’s sad that some people feel the need to bring others down to make themselves feel better! All the love,’ one more supportive fan told her.

Emily has been open about her struggles with body image, recently admitting that she would seek out comments about herself when she first started appearing on TV.

Speaking to Little Mix star Jesy Nelson in a candid interview about body image and social media, Emily said: ‘When I was very young and I started The Inbetweeners, I was 17, and I never had a problem with my weight.

‘I thought I was gorgeous and then I saw myself on telly.’

She continued: ‘I would go to seek the comments written on chat rooms and things, talking about my weight and things like that and I thought, “Oh my God. Oh, I’m fat. People are calling me fat.”‘

‘I just want people to know it’s not okay,’ Jesy replied.

And it’s not the first time Emily has spoken out about body shamers, previously telling them where to go.

Addressing her comments to Metro.co.uk, she added: ‘People calling me ugly is unhealthy for other girls to see those comments, I don’t give a s***.

‘I can handle it. It was on behalf of anyone who gets fat-shamed, and these nasty comments. I’m just like, “F*** off, it’s people like you who are the problem!” Nobody is perfect, just f*** off!’
