Demi Lovato reflects on 'emotional' 2020 Grammys performance

An emotional Demi Lovato took the stage at the 2020 Grammy Awards on Sunday night, when she debuted her new song “Anyone” in her first performance since her 2018 overdose.

“What an unbelievable night,” the pop star afterwards on Instagram. “My first time back on stage in almost 2 years. So emotional for me. Thank you all for the love, support and for sharing this moment with me. I love you all.”

Shortly after Lovato posted her touching note, the 27-year-old received praise from her famous fans and friends.

“No words. So proud of u,” manager Scooter Braun responded.

“Beautiful,” Kate Hudson replied.

“Your performance brought me to tears! I am so blown away by your vulnerability & that was so gorgeous,” Colton Haynes shared.

Selena Gomez, a friend of Lovato’s since they both appeared on “Barney” and Disney, also gushed about the singer’s powerful performance.

“I wish there were words to describe how beautiful, inspirational and DESERVED this moment was. Demi I’m so happy for you. Thank you for your courage and bravery,” Gomez shared on her Instagram story.

In 2018, Lovato was hospitalized after an apparent drug overdose and later entered rehab.

Earlier this month, a source close to Lovato confirmed to Page Six that she will be releasing a new album in early 2020. She is also slated to perform the National Anthem on Sunday at Super Bowl 2020 in Miami.
