It is truly shocking to see how many well-educated people will completely abandon rationality when confronted with bad news. The Pollyanna of “40 million unemployed is just a small hiccup in the plan, no need to worry” that the media and the Federal Government have been selling is completely insane.

We have a very serious problem on our hands and it is only going to get worse if we keep pretending that this is fine.

But the stock market is still doing well for some reason. It’s as if it’s not a sign for how well the economy is doing.
