>Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano said Friday that President Trump does not have authority to force governors to reopen churches.

>”As ill-advised as these gubernatorial orders are, as essential as is the right to worship, as fundamental as it is, as absolutely protected by the first amendment as it is, **the president does not have any authority to override the governors**,” he told Fox’s “The Daily Briefing.”

How would god and Jesus feel about withholding emergency financial aid to states in exchange for opening churches during a plague?

What Trump is doing is calculated.(Not by him, I wouldn’t give him credit for putting peanut butter on a piece of bread) It’s to sow discord concerning the pandemic. The plan is for Trump to say how useless the quarantine was and blame it on Democratic governors and place all jobs lost, as well as the Recession, on the Dems for their response. He’s going to ride that message and hope that those that have lost their jobs will be so pissed and disillusioned that they will vote for him just to spite the system.

trump’s intent was to rile up his base and cause violence, he doesn’t give a shit about the churches being open because he’ll be golfing. This Sunday there will be hundreds of armed protests outside shuttered churches.

Don is presenting himself as a defender of the Evangelical Right. He doesn’t need to have the power to open, all he needs to do is claim it and invoke any opposition as an affront to the right of “god-fearing Americans” right to congregate and worship… By doing that, this odious fucking toad presents himself as a Messiah to the Bible belters. He is stoking sectarian confrontation and aggression, when he should be building consensus. I hope America survives this, its going to get far, far worse come November. No election result will be accepted unless its a Don win,… Read more »

If people want to kill themselves going to church, that’s on them. But they shouldn’t be allowed to kill others in the process.

My 2nd amendment rights don’t mean I can shoot a gun where people are in the way. It should be the same for 1st amendment rights.

Fuck Trump. Another sad attempt to show some power, that he does not have. It’s a bullshit move. Another pathetic attempt to push the focus away from how badly he has handled the virus. He is not religious. He could not care any less about his religious followers. The man is stupid, evil and only serves himself and maybe his wealthy business “friends”. We need this moron removed from office a.s.a.p. It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that anybody is still stupid enough to support this clown. Wake up Trump supporters, Trump has ZERO VALUE for you… Read more »

Regardless of how you feel about religion, smart churches won’t reopen until their states deem it safe to do so.

What’s next, everyone going to church must to take a Hydroxychloroquine wafer because the great pumpkin says so. The [prosperity gospel](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosperity_theology) preachers must be getting afraid that if the sheep are left without their weekly indoctrination, they may realize that they get can along fine without them.

How about we just let these churches continue to have their toxic gatherings, and then we ALL just avoid having friendships with ANY of these church-goers?

“Hey are you still attending public church gatherings? Awesome, good luck. I don’t want to be your friend any longer”.

Force social isolation upon them.

My take is, if churches don’t have parishioners, parishioners can’t donate at the offering time.

No *offerings*, no *donations* from churches. Less campaign *money*. It goes both ways too. From what it seems, lack of religious political money would affect Republicans more this year.
