With the COVID-19 pandemic making some voters leery about visiting polling places, most states are moving to expand their vote by mail systems. This has enraged President Donald Trump who has railed against the practice multiple times in the last few weeks.
The practice has also been criticized by Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany who often votes by mail herself. RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel has taken it a step further by suing California Governor Gavin Newsome for sending out ballots to voters. It has now been revealed that McDaniel, like Trump and McEnany, has frequently filed absentee ballots.
The RNC Chair tweeted earlier this week, “I am pleased to announce that the RNC, the NRCC, & the California GOP just sued Gavin Newsom over his illegal election power grab. His radical plan is a recipe for disaster that would create more opportunities for fraud & destroy the confidence Californians deserve to have in their elections.”

After investigating her voting record, Salon’s Igor Derysh, wrote, “RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel repeatedly voted by mail before leading California mail voting lawsuit, according to voting records obtained by Progress Michigan.”

The RNC has defended their stance against absentee ballots. Spokesperson Michael Ahrens said in a statement, “We do not oppose lawful absentee voting. What we oppose are Democrats’ demands to automatically mail millions of ballots to voters while simultaneously suing to eliminate safeguards like ballot signature verification and state bans on ballot harvesting.”
