That relic of the Bush administration has to close. Either prisoners are tried for their crimes or they are set free. We don’t have laws designed to deal with these prisoners because our constitution prevents those laws from being developed.
I don’t care who you are holding someone for 16 years without any charges is horrific. If the guy in his mid 70s with diabetes and a bad heart condition is such a threat we should be able to prove it.

They need to shut this place down. It’s a travesty to keep prisoners there without trial. Also, the place is such a money pit. The cost per prisoner to keep that place running is really f’ing stupid. This costly endeavor was only because no senator wanted these prisoners within the states they represent (repurpose existing prisons). Selfish pricks. Don’t know about you, we have plenty of American prisoners who are capable of far worse things then those who are still in Gitmo.
