Coldplay fans, look away now as Chris Martin has suggested that the band’s 12th album will be their last.

The My Universe singers are set to release their ninth album, Music Of The Spheres, on Friday.

They were first formed in 1996 and have been delighting us with their timeless bops ever since.

However, the frontman explained that the end date for the group releasing new material may be on the horizon.

During an appearance on Absolute Radio, he said: ‘I think that in a few albums’ time we will finish making albums.

‘This is not a joke, this is true, I think after 12 that will be the end of our catalogue, but I think we will always want to play live together.

‘So, I think in the way that the [Rolling] Stones do, it will be so cool if we can still be touring in our late 70s.

‘That will be wonderful, if anybody wants to come.’

We will definitely be there.

His words come as Coldplay took to the stage in London for a special concert, where they were joined on the night by Ed Sheeran.

Fans rocked up to the O2 Arena in Shepherd’s Bush to celebrate the band’s latest album – when the Thinking Out Loud singer got in on the action.

The Galway Girl singer joined Chris, Guy, Phil, Jonny and Will for a poignant performance of their banger, Fix You.

He later returned to sing his new single, Shivers, as well as Shape Of You with the band.

Proceeds from the unique show went to environmental charity ClientEarth, with the organisation fighting for changes in the law to protect nature.
