Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) is set to return to Coronation Street in upcoming scenes for one final showdown with Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).

The wicked criminal escapes from a prison van following a crash, and makes his way back to the cobbles in search of revenge.

What follows is nothing short of spectacular, as the ITV soap goes all out in an explosive week that will change everything.

Harvey, as we know, is hellbent on making Leanne pay for her role in his imprisonment, but what he doesn’t plan for is an impromptu thunderstorm, which threatens to ruin everything.

Lives are on the line in the tense scenes, as the drugs baron plans on seeing his plan through to the bitter end.

The question is: will he die in the process? That remains to be seen, but actor Will Mellor has hinted at his character meeting a sticky end during the week in question due to the chaos that ensues.

‘[Harvey’s life is in danger] One hundred percent from the start,’ he told Metro.co.uk. ‘With the police van incident, his life is already in jeopardy. How could he prepare for a huge storm and a sinkhole?

‘The electrics are everywhere, there’s a proper massive storm. This is no trickle! I’ve got the headache colds to prove it, he didn’t prepare for any of that, who could!? He’s hard to keep down though but when you think he’s down, think again.’

Will remained tight-lipped on Harvey’s fate, telling us that fans will just have to wait and see what transpires.

He said: ‘Does he survive, does he not? Who knows? If I say, yeah I’ll be back he survives. If I say the opposite, he dies.

‘So just enjoy the ride, it’s a really bumpy one and you see every side of him and how far he willing to go to cause as much damage and hurt as he can before he gets away.’
