Brand New Emerson Poll Highlights How Much Worse Off Virginia Democrats are Since Last Month, Governor’s Race in Dead Heat

38

With Democrat Virginia Governor Ralph Northam’s time drawing to a close, the race is heating up for who will be the next Governor. Virginia is largely considered a blue state now.

This rings especially true because of demographic shifts and the growth of white-collar liberals in Northern Virginia as well. On top of that, independents in Virginia don’t seem to like former President Donald Trump, despite his popularity in Florida and elsewhere.

Currently running for the governor’s seat is moderate Republican Glenn Youngkin and radical left-wing nut job and former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe.

Many thought this race would be a shoo-in for the Democrat, no matter who won the Democrat primary. That may still happen, but new polling is confirming other recent polls showing a dead heat. This comes after the fact that early voting is down substantially as well for the Democrats.

Although it’s unlikely Youngkin wins, and he would need a perfect storm scenario to even have a chance, the perfect storm is brewing. Check out the latest from Emerson College Polling:

“VIRGINIA POLL with @NXSTMediaGroup If the election for #VAGov were held today, for whom would you cast your vote? @TerryMcAuliffe 48% @GlennYoungkin 48% Someone else 1% Undecided 3%”

“You all have to realize that Terry hasn’t been up in the last 4 polls it has been tied or Youngkin lead!

This race is way to close”
