Donald Trump’s One-Time Pastor Answers the Question Americans Still Have about Trump’s Supposed Love of Christians: “no one ever saw President Trump in that time while I was there”
Prior to being banned from Twitter, former President Trump took to his favorite social media platform to praise the proposals from lawmakers from six states that would allow Bible literacy classes to be offered in public schools.
Trump tweeted that these states were “starting to make a turn back” and gave his usual one word exclamation stamp of approval.
Trump’s tweet might sound nice to SOME people but now Trump’s former pastor, David Lewicki, has pointed out that the President may not be an authority figure on the subject of biblical literacy.
Lewicki, who served at New York City’s Marble Collegiate Church from 2004-2010, says in his time there although Trump WAS on the roll book, he never actually showed up to church, to bible study, and NOT with his finances, either.
President Trump touted his attendance at Marble in 2015 during his campaign but in an interview given to The Christian Post on Wednesday, Pastor Lewicki had the following to say:
“I led Wednesday night worship services and I was present every Sunday to lead worship services… To my knowledge, no one ever saw President Trump in that time while I was there. So he was not a visible and active member of our congregation while he was on the membership rolls during that time.“

Lewicki tweeted about Trump’s lack of presence at Marble and then added a quote from Irish political figure Edmund Burke, “Hypocrisy can afford to be magnificent in its promises, for never intending to go beyond promise, it costs nothing.”
All the twitter activity didn’t go unnoticed by Marble Collegiate Church and the church issued a rare statement saying that Trump was not an “active” member.
The issue remains, however, that Trump’s self-proclaimed Christian faith seems insincere to many.
He no doubt carries support from evangelicals but many are quick to point out this his own administration’s policies conflict with Biblical teachings.
