Kieran Trippier remains on Manchester United’s radar ahead of the January window and the club will give Ralf Rangnick the option to make the Atletico Madrid full-back one of his first singings.

The England international was high up on United’s wanted list during the summer transfer window.

The Premier League side were ultimately priced out of a move, however, with Atletico refusing to negotiate a deal for less than his €60m release clause.

United have persevered with Aaron Wan-Bissaka as their first choice right-back this season with Diogo Dalot providing cover.

But with the former Crystal Palace youngster enduring a difficult season, Trippier remains on their agenda.

AS report Trippier is still in United’s plans but the club will turn to Rangnick who will decide whether the club step up their interest again in what will be one of his first major transfer decisions at Old Trafford.

Newcastle United are also interested in signing the former Tottenham full-back.

Rangnick has been named United’s interim manager until the end of the season and will move onto a consultancy role within the club this summer.

The German is expected to be given funds to strengthen the squad this summer with RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara another early target.

Rangnick signed Haidara while he was manager of RB Leipzig and the Mali international is said to have a release clause of £33m written into his contract.
