Louise Redknapp has firmly set the record straight in the wake of the birth of ex-husband Jamie Redknapp’s new baby son, revealing that she is in ‘the most positive of headspaces’.

Taking to Instagram, the 47-year-old singer made a rare but robust statement on her private life, writing: ‘I try not to read or respond to these things but sometimes they are unavoidable. I’d really love to clarify that ‘Louise’ is not in despair or anything like it!!

‘I have my two gorgeous boys that I adore more than anything in the world, the best family around me and I’m having the time of my life with my career and with the most wonderful friends that a girl could hope for.

‘These stories are there to sell magazines but I’d like to make it clear that I’m in the most positive of headspaces and loving my life.’

She added: ‘Here’s to all the ladies out there that are in control of their lives and living their very best lives!’, before concluding: ‘Come on… women are better than this.’

She and Jamie share two sons, 17-year-old Charley and Beau, 13, and split after 19 years of marriage in 2017.

On November 24, Jamie announced the birth of new son Raphael with his wife Frida Andersson, now Redknapp, whom he wed in an intimate ceremony in October.

The new dad was then seen out and about on a coffee run, looking a little tired, shortly after the birth.

Model Frida, 38, who was first linked to Jamie in August 2020, is also mother to four children – three boys and one girl – with ex-husband Jonathan Lourie, a 58-year-old American hedge fund manager.

Former Eternals member Louise recently revealed that her sons are keen for her to start dating again.

‘They always say, “When are you going to [date]?” she explained in a new interview with Fabulous magazine. ‘All my boys care about is me being happy – whatever that is’.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star revealed exciting career news on Friday, with an announcement of her first live show in the calendar for 2022.

She wrote on Twitter: I’m so excited to announce the first of my live shows for 2022! I’ll be joining the fabulous @OfficialSteps at Trentham Live @TrenthamLive on Friday 2nd September! Come along and hear all the hits… and some new tracks.’
