Lauren Boebert Next Target of PAC That Targeted Cawthorn
The group that helped derail Rep. Madison Cawthorn’s (R-NC) bid for reelection opened a new attack operation on Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), with the aim of ensuring her defeat in the June 28 Republican primary for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.
David B. Wheeler, the co-founder of the American Muckrakers PAC, confirmed to Insider on Wednesday that Boebert was the group’s next target. On Thursday, the PAC launched the website www.fireboebert.com.
“We helped fire Madison Cawthorn. Now it’s Lauren Boebert’s turn,” the newly launched website says.
“I think we’re gonna go after Lauren Boebert in Colorado in a similar way,” Wheeler told Insider. “I think we’re gonna engage in that race pretty quickly.”
Wheeler’s group used a website called www.firemadison.com to disseminate damaging information related to the controversial congressman, including a nude clip of the young congressman humping a male friend.
“I was being crass with a friend, trying to be funny. We were acting foolish, and joking. That’s it,” Cawthorn responded to the clip, which was one of many scandals that plagued the freshman congressman. On Tuesday night, Cawthorn lost in his Republican primary, ending his short tenure in Congress.
Having turned its attention now to Boebert, Wheeler’s group says on its new website that it is “seeking tips on information, pictures, videos, or documents on Boebert or her associates.”
The group launched a Twitter account to go with fireboebert.com and its first tweet read: “Hi @RepBoebert – Please visit with @RepCawthorn about us. We look forward to getting to know you.”

Wheeler told Insider that the group already has “interesting information” about Boebert, who has had her fair share of scandals, but noted it’s nothing like what they found on Cawthorn.
Wheeler told Insider that he plans “to focus on targeted messages through texting and social media at unaffiliated women” as Colorado’s primary system allows unaffiliated voters to vote in either the GOP or Democratic primary on election day.
