Pennsylvania Republicans Furious that Trump Will Not Keep His Fat Mouth Shut: ‘I’m Flabbergasted!’
As of Friday, Mehmet Oz still leads his opponent Dave McCormick by 1,083 votes or a little less than .1% of the total vote in the Pennsylvania primary for Republican Senator Pat Toomey’s seat as he retires this year. As everyone knows, Donald Trump picked Oz, evidently positive that Oz will be entirely “loyal,” Trump’s most-prized quality, even if you’re stupid, in fact, especially if you’re stupid.
Oz is not stupid. He just looks stupid running for the U.S. Senate.
But the vote count is so close that there is an automatic recount to go and then litigation by each candidate no matter who comes out on top.
Obviously, Trump wants television show elections where they announce the winner that night even if the vote is this close and there are thousands of ballots that haven’t been counted. So Trump, being Trump, is apoplectic, implying that this is rigged, and basically killing the Republicans’ faith in elections. It is Georgia all over again, and Pennsylvania Republicans are seething, knowing they’re going up against a popular candidate in Democrat Lt. Governor Fetterman.

From the Pittsburgh Gazette:
Mr. Trump, on his social media site, Truth Social, posted Thursday: “The Pennsylvania Oz race is ridiculous. How long does it take to count votes. France, same day all paper, had VERIFIED numbers in evening. U.S. is a laughingstock on Elections. Stop FINDING VOTES in PENNSYLVANIA! RIGGED?”
The French election was about 15% points apart. It makes it a little easier to decide in one day than .08%, Donald. If the French election was within a thousand votes they would’ve taken a while, too, idiot.
Stop “finding” votes? Yes, even if they’re real. Don’t “find them” if your guy is ahead. Of course, Trump also told Oz to just declare victory because it’s “harder to steal” if you declare victory. Trump knows. He knows how to set oneself up to steal an election.
Other Republicans in Pennsylvania have recoiled at language from Mr. Trump that they say could undermine the legitimacy of the party’s nominee in the November vote, as well as sow even greater doubt about the democratic process.
“I’m flabbergasted. When somebody who advocates that everybody needs to get their votes out and their opponents are cheating, and now he is talking about his own party?” said Dave Ball, chairman of the Washington County Republicans. “When the president says let’s cut it off here because I like the number here, so let’s stop, I don’t understand the point of making statements like that.”
Flabbergasted? ‘Must only be because Trump is doing it to Republicans this time. And the “point in doing that” is to undermine democracy. That’s Trump’s specific intent. Trump doesn’t like voting. He likes winning and if voting is getting in the way then don’t vote! Just “do it” by sending an army out to…
