Trump ‘Crashed’ the Set of ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ and Totally Made a Fool of Himself

When Donald Trump decided to crash the set of The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013, at least one of the stars of the movie was less than impressed.

Cristin Milioti, who plays Teresa, the first wife of ambitious stockbroker Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio) in the Martin Scorsese movie, recalled her encounter with Trump long before he became president in an interview with The Independent. The encounter with Trump occurred when Milioti and DiCaprio were filming a scene in front of Trump Tower in New York City, and in the scene, Teresa finds out Jordan has been having an affair with Naomi (Margot Robbie), according to Insider.

At one point The Independent’s Ellie Harrison asked Milioti if Trump ever showed up. Milioti’s response wasn’t what anyone would call enthusiastic. Not by any means.

Trump made a cameo appearance in Home Alone 2, which was filmed in the Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time.

“Ugh,” she said. “He crashed the set and he was a complete and utter buffoon, as we all know.”

Milioti’s encounter with Trump isn’t the only time someone has had an unpleasant experience with him on a movie set. In an interview marking the 30th anniversary of Home Alone, Director Chris Columbus said he had to put up with Trump for the movie’s sequel, for a scene he wanted to shoot at the Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time.

“Like most locations in New York City, you just pay a fee and you are allowed to shoot in that location,” Columbus said. “We approached the Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time because we wanted to shoot in the lobby. We couldn’t rebuild The Plaza on a soundstage.”

Trump said OK. We paid the fee, but he also said, ‘The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie,” Columbus said. “So we agreed to put him in the movie, and when we screened it for the first time the oddest thing happened: People cheered when Trump showed up on-screen. So I said to my editor, ‘Leave him in the movie. It’s a moment for the audience.”

“But,” Columbus added, “he did bully his way into the movie.”

Kind of like the way he barged his way onto the set of The Wolf of Wallstreet, much to Milioti’s disdain. And the star of the movie, Leonardo DiCaprio, has spent hours and days trying to get Trump to do anything proactive on climate change, only to be continually ignored.

In recalling the scene where DiCaprio’s character tells her about the affair, Milioti said the whole thing was very intense. It turned into a 12-hour shoot where she continually slapped DiCaprio for 12 straight hours. This is at the point where Teresa becomes enraged at Jordan, and this leads to their divorce.

“We shot from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. and we did that scene over and over and over,” Milioti said, adding that she actually did hit DiCaprio a few times.

“I just kind of slapped the hell out of him for 12 hours,” she said.

Hmm. Too bad someone can’t slap “the hell” out of Donald Trump for 12 hours.
