The big slates continue on DraftKings as we get another 22-match mountain to climb with all kinds of nice plays. As we’ve seen all week we’re getting matches on clay from four different locations across Europe so weather and conditions can become a factor in tennis DFS scores. After a slightly disappointing offering for Tuesday’s slate we are back with $10,000 up for grabs. Let’s find some winners for Wednesday, April 21st.

DraftKings Tennis DFS Picks | April 21
Maria Sakkari ($7,200)
Opponent: Petra Kvitova
This should be the match of the day with two top-20 players on the WTA squaring off in Germany as both look to have gotten comfortable now on the red dirt. Maria Sakkari is playing the best tennis of her life (literally) reaching the highest ranking of her career on the tour at 19th. There may not be a more athletic woman on the tour which doesn’t make her the best it does give her an edge on a surface where movement is key. She is priced accordingly by the odds and Elo ratings which favor Petra Kvitova but after beating a power player in the first round in just 66 minutes she should be more than comfortable with the bounces here on the different surface.
For their careers these two have met four times with each player winning 2 matches with Sakkari claiming the win in their only clay match. I think that’s a great representation of what this matchup will be here with Sakkari eeking it out. If she can continue to win first serves at 81% like she did in the first round she could run through this tournament.
Stefanos Tsitsipas ($9,800)
Opponent: Jaume Munar
I won’t go so far as to say this is a misprice but it’s close. Fresh off a title in Monte Carlos, Stefanos Tsitsipas looks to keep the good times rolling against Jaume Munar. Munar has plenty of experience on clay but hasn’t played much on the ATP tour with only 30 wins for his career in 60 matches (229 Wins overall). If we dive into the Elo Ratings and odds everything points to Tsitsipas moving on with 82% probability of winning per tennisabstract. So far, the young Greek has had a great 2021 going 22-5 reaching the quarterfinals in each event he has participated in.
In their two career meetings Tsitsipas was able to win both (one on clay) and with his current form, and better overall game, I expect that trend to continue.
Marketa Vondrousova ($8,700)
Opponent: Marie Bouzkova
As the third highest projected player on the slate there is plenty of reason to like this spot for Marketa Vondrousova. The 20th ranked women’s player in the world has always enjoyed the clay surface winning 74.5% of her matches (79-27) and should have little issues here with Marie Bouzkova. Vondrousova is playing her first match on the red dirt this year thus the slightly reduced price considering the odds and Elo Rating which gives her a 77% chance to win.
Bouzkova much prefers the hard courts with her size and power which should help Vondrousova get acclimated with the surface before anything gets out of hand. There is plenty of ceiling to be had here for tennis DFS which we’ll need on a big slate such as this.
Others: Matteo Berrettini, Alexander Bublik, Ana Konjuh
