Liz Cheney Calls Her Replacement Elise Stefanik ‘Complicit’ in Trump’s ‘Big Lie’

0 53

Liz Cheney is delivering on her promise to continue her fight. The MAGA-GOP might have made one of the biggest mistakes they’ve made in some time. Well, perhaps it wasn’t a “mistake.” They were following orders after all. And since the orders came from Trump, who doesn’t make mistakes, we might just call this a “self-own.” In demoting Liz Cheney they actually promoted her. More people will interview her now and more people will hear those interviews.

Who remembers anything that Elise Stefanik said this week? And compare that to Liz Cheney. Moreover, now that Liz is a household name as one of the few ready to battle Trump and McCarthy, it’s only going to get more intense. It only took a few days for it to get significantly more intense. Liz Cheney said McCarthy is complicit and has information he’s been withholding. If law-enforcement has asked McCarthy any of these questions and McCarthy withheld evidence, that is a borderline accusation of a crime. (We do not know what law-enforcement asked McCarthy but because he was on the phone with Trump, we presume the FBI has talked to him.)

Cheney appeared on Fox News Sunday:

Chris Wallace asked: “I ask this about both McCarthy and Elise Stefanik (R-NY). Are they being complicit in what you consider the Trump lies?”

Cheney: “They are. And I’m not willing to do that. There are some things that have to be bigger than party, that have to be bigger than partisanship. Our oath to the Constitution is one of those.”

Wallace asked if McCarthy should testify to a commission:

“I think it’s very important. He clearly has facts about that day that an investigation into what happened, into the president’s actions ought to get to the bottom of. And I think that he has important information that needs to be part of any investigation, whether it’s the FBI, the Department of Justice or this commission that I hope will be set up.

So, McCarthy clearly has facts about that day, and an investigation ought to get to the bottom of. She just very clearly stated that McCarthy has not talked about all that happened that day, especially with his interactions with Trump, even though he’s discussed some of it. She seems to be saying that McCarthy knows more about Trump’s actions that day than he’s let out, and she’s saying it on an awfully big platform.

They deserve it. And since the NHL playoffs begin today, we’ll say that Trump’s ego just forced the MAGAs into an “own goal”:

Peace, y’all
